Login verification 2-factor authentication (Admin)

Click on the gear wheel next to your dataroom name to access the security settings. There, administrators can activate additional protection (2-factor authentication or 2FA) for the login to your netfiles data room.

By activating the “Login verification” option, users must enter an additional security code in addition to the access data (user name/email address and password), which is either sent to the user by email or to the user’s cell phone via SMS/OTP app. This code is only valid once and is comparable to the mTAN for online banking. The two-step login (password and security code) significantly reduces the risk of theft of personal data, as the attacker not only needs the user name and password, but also the user’s cell phone at the same time. You can activate login verification either only for login via a previously unknown application (e.g. web browser) or for every login. Before activating, please ensure that a mobile phone number has been stored in the personal user settings for all users of your data room. These can be found by clicking on your name in the top right-hand corner.

You can exclude an IP address from login verification. Logins from IP addresses stored here are possible without login verification.

Note: If you have set up a passkey, 2-factor authentication (2FA) is no longer necessary. A passkey works as both as a password and as 2FA authentication.
