Upload

You can upload files or folders to netfiles using the “Upload” function in the right-hand function bar. Please note that the name of a folder is limited to 100 characters. After clicking the “Upload” button, you can select the desired files or folders in the folder structure of your computer. To select multiple items, press the CTRL key (Windows) or the ⌘ key (macOS). Alternatively, you can also drag and drop individual files, multiple files and/or individual folders with subfolders into the documents area and upload them to netfiles.

Loading folder structures

Most browsers also allow you to upload entire folder structures in one step.

If you want to load complex or large structures, netfiles recommends you use a zip archive. netfiles supports the zip file types .zip, .7z, .rar, .gzip, .tar and .tar.gz. When the upload is complete, the zip files is automatically extracted. You can deactivate automatic unpacking in your personal options.

Please note

  • The maximum file size for uploads is 250 GB per file.
  • A 16 Mbps Internet connection typically allows an upload transfer rate of 1,024 kbps, resulting in a duration of approximately 100 seconds for an upload of 100 MB.
  • All files are encrypted and checked for malware/viruses during upload. Data will only be accessible once these steps are completed.
  • HTML, TXT and XML files larger than 100 MB cannot be stored in netfiles. If you need to store such files in the data room, try to reduce their size by creating a zip file.
  • The maximum upload size for files also depends on the browser version used. Older versions often do not support very large files.
